German Shepherd Dogs have been one of the most popular breeds since I began training in 1975. I’ve worked directly with hundreds of GSDs. They are always aware and can be forgiving, calm, intuitive, anxious, resilient, fearful, aggressive, or a combination of some of these characteristics.
Some are strikingly beautiful and physically sound; others are not. Like any other breed (and, perhaps more so with Shepherds) it’s important to work with a skilled trainer.
Here’s a video of my Basic graduation demonstration with a challenging, but responsive, GSD.
